How to serve the traditional “Shuba” salad in an original way

“Shuba” is not just a salad, but a real space for culinary creativity. Instead of the usual form in a deep bowl, try serving it in such a way that guests will enthusiastically say: “Is this really “Shuba”?!”

One way is to serve the salad in the form of a roll. To do this, all the ingredients are spread in thin layers on cling film in the reverse order: first beets, then carrots, potatoes, eggs and herring. The layers are slightly pressed, and then rolled into a roll using the film. Before serving, the roll is cooled and cut into portioned pieces.

Another option is to serve it in glasses or transparent glasses. This makes the salad not only convenient to serve, but also beautiful, because all the layers will be clearly visible. To make the dish look festive, the top layer can be decorated with green onions, dill, or even red caviar.

To serve at a buffet, try a miniature version of “Shuba” on tartlets or crackers. This is a great way to make a traditional dish easy to consume, which is especially convenient for guests.
