How to sharpen a grater in 5 minutes

A grater is considered one of the most necessary things in the kitchen, without which it is impossible to imagine preparing dishes for small children. Over time, the kitchen tool becomes dull and using it becomes inconvenient and problematic.

Details

If the grater is used intensively, the cutting edges should be carefully sharpened on both sides. To do this, you need an ordinary knife with a short blade and a porcelain or ceramic cup. You also need a sharpening block, with which you can achieve the best result.

First, you need to sharpen and sharpen the inner part of the cutting edge. To do this, insert the knife into the grater tooth and run the tip from its inner part. Run with a little effort 3-4 times on each side.

In this way, each tooth is processed. On a smaller grater, in the teeth of which the knife tip will not fit, this operation must be carried out with a small nail.

Next comes sharpening the outer side of the teeth. To do this, wipe the grater on the bottom of a ceramic or porcelain cup. This part has abrasive properties and will sharpen the outer cutting edges of the teeth well.

The manipulation is carried out with a sharpening bar, but act carefully, because the graters are made of thin metal, so there is a possibility of damaging the kitchen tool.

After sharpening, the grater is washed well. These simple steps will help restore the oldest grater and it can be used as new.
