How to sit correctly: a simple secret will help prolong life
0
Long daily stay in a sitting position affects health negatively. Muscle tone, work capacity decreases, various diseases may develop. However, it turned out that everything depends on how to sit.
Scientists studied how life expectancy is related to the frequency of a simple exercise – sitting on the floor and getting up from it. The hypothesis was that people who load their bodies with such complex exercises live longer, and it was confirmed.
Standing test
The study was based on one simple test. More than two thousand participants between the ages of 51 and 80 had to get up from the floor from a sitting position with their legs crossed. It was impossible to help oneself with one's hands. Those who did worse than others were six times more likely to die early.
“It is well known that aerobic exercise is associated with longer life, but our study also shows that maintaining a high the level of flexibility of the body, muscle strength, the ratio of strength to body weight, as well as good coordination are not only useful for daily tasks, but also have a positive effect on life expectancy,” said one of the authors of the study, Dr. Claudio Gil Araujo (Claudio Gil Araújo).
A simple recommendation
From here the recommendation is to perform a simple exercise several times a day, if possible, to sit on the floor and stand up. Avoid slouching while sitting. The neck should be in line with the back. All this will improve blood circulation, give an influx of energy, make you flexible and ready to move.
