How to sleep properly to minimize swelling

Swelling is a problem for many women. All of us have at least once woken up with a swollen face the morning after a party or dinner party. However, morning swelling often occurs in those who carefully monitor their water balance, do not eat fatty and salty foods at night, do not drink alcohol, and generally lead an active, healthy lifestyle. The reason may be that you are not sleeping properly. What this means and how to sleep in such a way as to prevent the appearance of morning swelling, we tell in our material.
The most common mistake is sleeping on the side or stomach.Of course, these positions are very comfortable both from the point of view of physiology and from the point of view of psychology. Sleeping on your side and stomach gives you a sense of safety and security, as a result of which the body calms down, you fall asleep and sleep comfortably until the morning. However, these positions turn your night's rest into 6 (or even 8) hours of continuous pressure on internal organs, stretching and wrinkling of the skin, which in turn provokes morning puffiness and wrinkles on the face.
The simplest a way to avoid morning puffiness is to sleep on your back. A pillow of the right height and shape is equally important. Even if you sleep on your back, but your head is in the wrong position, not only the appearance of swelling, but also problems with the cervical spine will become inevitable. It is best to choose a special orthopedic pillow that will perfectly adapt to the natural curves of the neck, ensuring the correct position of the head throughout sleep.
Another important point that often causes swelling is improper night care, or rather, incorrect the time of its application. Despite the fact that the care is night, and it should work precisely during sleep, dermatologists recommend applying all the products one to one and a half hours before going to bed, so that most of the products are absorbed into the skin.
If you go to bed immediately after applying care products, you risk not only waking up with swelling in the morning, but also losing part of the effect of the cosmetics (because it will simply soak into the fabric of your pillowcase) and even skin irritation and acne.
