How to speed up compost decomposition without adding EM preparations

Garden compost is the best fertilizer option for the garden and vegetable garden. You know exactly what you are putting in there, so the environmental friendliness of the application is at the highest level. Recently, EM preparations have been advertised. They accelerate the decomposition of plant residues in the compost pile, but they are not the only ones that can control the process.

Advice from experienced gardeners

Gardening experts know an old and reliable method that allows you to significantly speed up composting. According to it, you need to prepare a mixture of products. It consists of starch and urea (carbamide). The proportion in equal parts is 1 to 1.

The prepared powder should be sprinkled on the compost pit every two weeks. The dose is 3 tablespoons. Water should be poured on top.

The mixture works as follows. Urea is responsible for creating a temperature regime and suppresses pathogenic bacteria. And starch ensures the speed of processing. Thus, the composting period is shortened. And you don't even need special E-preparations.
