How to store greens in the fridge for weeks

In the summer season, the issue of preserving greens becomes especially relevant. Dill, parsley, lettuce and other herbs quickly lose their attractive appearance due to wilting. To maintain the freshness of green sprouts for as long as possible, you should perform a few simple steps.

Details

First, moisten the gauze with water and wrap the stems of the plants with it. It is allowed to wrap the greens completely in gauze. For a greater effect, you can wrap the resulting bundle in foil on top.

In this form, the stems and leaves of any herbs will remain juicy and strong for a long time.

If you have a lot of greens, you can make a preparation that will be stored in the refrigerator for a whole month.

To do this, rinse the greens well and shake off any remaining moisture. After that, remove the stems, if necessary, and finely chop the edible part.

Sprinkle generously with salt (20 g of salt per 100 g of greens) and place in a glass jar with a tightly closing lid.

This dressing can be added to any dishes – soups, sauces or salads.
