Winter storage of hydrangeas

You need to wait until the plant sheds its leaves. This can be done by frost. Therefore, all you have to do is remove the fallen leaves. Sanitary pruning and treatment against pests and diseases should also be done at this point. Be careful when choosing drugs. They work under different temperature conditions.

The flowerpot should be moved to a cold room or cellar. It is not recommended that the temperature be higher than +5 degrees. It is even good that it is close to zero.

If you do not have a garage, cellar or other room where you can organize a winter shelter for hydrangeas, in this case you can bury them in the ground and cover them with spunbond. This way they will overwinter, and in the spring you will be able to restore their appearance.
