How to store sausages in the refrigerator for as long as possible

If necessary, sausages, like any other sausage products, can be frozen.

Details

However, even in such a seemingly simple process, certain rules should be followed.

  • Expired sausages, as well as products whose shelf life is coming to an end, should not be frozen.
  • At sub-zero temperatures, sausages can be kept in the freezer for no more than 60 days. To avoid confusion, before freezing, mark the date on the sausage packaging when they went to the freezer shelf.
  • Sausages should be placed in the freezer in their packaging; sliced sausages should not be frozen.
  • If you plan to keep the product in the freezer for a long time, you should abandon plastic bags in favor of foil or parchment paper;
  • Sausages should also be defrosted correctly – it is best to do this by moving it to the top shelf of the refrigerator;
  • Sausages can be placed directly from the freezer in a saucepan with cold water, after which the frozen product should be cooked over low heat until cooked.
