How to store tulip bulbs so they don't spoil before spring

Tulip bulbs need to be dug up every year. Modern hybrids grow and bloom well, but leaving them to overwinter in the ground is not recommended. This way they will quickly lose their attractiveness. Therefore, they need to be dug up and stored properly until winter.
Three popular methods
The first method is suitable for those who have a dry basement. Prepare a mixture of peat and vermiculite. Put the bulbs in it and put them in the basement. The tulips will gradually build up their root system, but they will not grow actively, because cold conditions will not contribute to this.
For the second method, you will need a newspaper. Wrap each bulb and put it in a regular wicker basket. This way, the tulips can be stored even in apartment conditions. The main thing is not to put them next to batteries. It is best on the balcony at a temperature not lower than +10 degrees.
It is also convenient to store them in plastic mesh boxes. Each layer of bulbs should be sprinkled with sawdust. The boxes can be placed in any room, but also at a temperature not lower than +10 degrees.
