How to translate the words “jaw” and “cheekbone” into Ukrainian: tips from Oleksandr Avramenko
0
In everyday life, we often use words borrowed from other languages, not always thinking about whether they have equivalents in Ukrainian. One such example is the word jaw. What is the correct way to call this part of the body Ukrainian?
The Ukrainian language has its own unique words that should not be replaced by tracings from other languages, such as Russian.
For example, instead of cheekbones should use the word cheekbones. This is another example of how you can express yourself accurately and competently, avoiding linguistic borrowings that are not always appropriate.
Knowing the correct Ukrainian equivalents helps not only to preserve the purity of the language, but also promotes better understanding between people. The use of such words as jaw, cheekbones, eyelidsand temples makes our language richer and more precise.
Avramenko called on Ukrainians to pay more attention to the language that we use every day, and choose words that best reflect the Ukrainian linguistic tradition. This is important not only for the preservation of language culture, but also for the formation of language awareness of future generations.
