How to help orchids
They forgot to water, did not transplant for a long time, ignored the signs of an unhealthy state – all this together led to drying up. If it was spilled and started to rot, it is also a problem.
Remove the remains of the plant from the pot. Spread the root system. You need to remove dry or rotten roots from it. If everything is cleaned and part of the orchid remains, try to save it and germinate it. Ordinary soda will help with this.
For 1 liter of water, add 1 tsp. soda. Moisten a cotton pad, wipe the leaves thoroughly to prevent fungal diseases, pests or destroy them. Place the orchid in the soda solution for 30 minutes. Then remove and dry it with a cotton pad.
If the plant has roots, although cleaned, transplant it into a new pot and soil. In another situation, when there is only one leaf, you can try to germinate it in a greenhouse. Make a stand in a transparent plastic cup with a cotton pad, which will act as a wick. Pour water so that it touches the water. This will gradually absorb water for the plant, but contact with the aquatic environment will be limited. Cover the greenhouse and wait for the orchid to sprout.
