Scientists are working hard to develop new treatments and possibly cures for all forms of dementia, including frontotemporal dementia. Frontotemporal dementia (PTD), one of the rarest forms of dementia, causes problems with behavior and speech.
Like all forms of the disease, PTSD causes several symptoms in patients. They can occur in different ways in different areas of a person's life, including when eating.
According to the charity Alzheimer's UK, patients may “crave sweet, fatty foods or carbohydrates and forget their table manners”. .
“They may also no longer know when to stop eating, drinking alcohol or smoking.”
Scientists believe that a new method of treating dementia may appear in the next 10 years. While this is beneficial for future patients, it leaves today's patients in a state of managed decline.
Along with changes in eating habits, other symptoms of LCD are:
• Insensitivity or rudeness
• Impulsive actions
• Loss of inhibitions
• Depression
• Loss of interest in people and things
• Loss of drive and motivation
• Inability to focus on others
• Repetitive behavior
• Compulsive overeating
• Neglect of personal hygiene
• Incorrect use of words
• Loss of vocabulary
• Repeating a limited number of phrases
• Forgetting the meaning of common words
