Scientists from Swansea University said that reducing the use of social networks can improve overall health, including immunity. This also has a positive effect on the psyche.
The scientists' experiment involved 50 people aged 20 to 25. They completed surveys and provided weekly reports on their use of social networks. One group of participants was asked to reduce their time on social media by at least 15 minutes.
It turned out that over three months their immune function improved by 15%. It should be understood that this conclusion was made based on their self-reports. The participants became less likely to get colds, flu, they became less likely to get warts, and their sleep quality improved by 50% and the number of depressive symptoms decreased by 30%.
It turned out that the participants reduced their use of social media by 40 minutes, despite the recommendations.
