Due to the large number of cases and fast pace of life, many people forget to eat, and skip meals. Most often, people do not eat breakfast, but it also happens that they skip dinner. Experts say: this threatens an unpleasant consequence for the body.
Researchers from Japan studied data on nutrition of more than 25,000 university students, assessing the impact of skipping meals. Over a three-year follow-up period, they found that skipping dinner was the most important cause of weight gain and subsequent obesity, while skipping breakfast or lunch did not.
Both men and women, skipping dinner led to weight gain of at least 10%.
One possible reason for this may be that if a person skips dinner, they are more likely to unknowingly increase their caloric intake the next day.
In addition, there may be a strong relationship between the quality of the diet and skipping dinner, which studies have also shown.
For example, one of them showed that people who skip dinner tend to eat more over time they consume less healthy food and especially little vegetable protein.
In this regard, experts do not recommend skipping meals, including dinner. And to prevent weight gain, they advise to distribute calories correctly for each meal.
