Instead of bright prospects – prison. How to recognize vacancies from fraudsters

Have you ever thought about the dangers of job hunting?

< h2>What dangers should you be aware of when looking for a job

Employment sites do not spare loud words when describing the current situation with vacancies: “Ukrainians are offered a staggering number of vacancies”, “the active recruitment season has not just started, but has already with supersonic speed”.

In the language of numbers, this means that employers posted even more job offers – 117,683 vacancies in September on just one of the major employment sites. And almost as much on another. But does this good news mean that finding a job has become easier or easier? Unlikely. And here's why.

In unstable times, fraudsters become more active. Counting on our anxiety, they make offers that not only do not allow us to work calmly and earn well, but can also get us into trouble.

Let's start with an example.

My son, a student, is looking for a part-time job. And since he wants to combine studies and work, he has few choices. One of the ads caught his attention and he sent it to me.

Instead of brilliant prospects – how to recognize vacancies from fraudsters

There is no point in retelling the text of the vacancy “chocolate” and brilliant prospects.

Yes, for naive people who sincerely believe that an average courier can earn a manager's salary just by transporting cargo to and fro. yerev – then naive people were told that they would deliver medicines and perfumes. It turned out that it was drugs, and the workers were facing serious prison terms.

How not to get into trouble

The basic rule is to read the job description very carefully and check it for adequacy. The golden sign of a decent company is a detailed description of both the employer and the future job. Sometimes to the point of boredom. But it's better that way than with tricks, general phrases – so as not to lie. Vacancy, which mimics “under decent”, filled with general phrases about work, which give the impression that everything is ok. But careful reading will not find specifics or numbers that give confidence. Slogans, promises and common phrases:

Or this descriptive nature of the ad:

Or at all – everything is very short and completely incomprehensible. But when you call the representative of the employer, that sweet-voiced siren promises so much that you don't feel like you promised something you didn't want to agree to. But if the employer's verbal promises are only to improve communication, you will have to answer 100% for your words.

Another sign is a high salary. Usually higher than analogues. And without clear explanations – why. For example, if a courier can receive more than 30 thousand, but hardly more than 60 thousand, the amount of 100 thousand without explanation, why such an additional payment can raise doubts.

Like the salary of a sales manager from the second screenshot – the employer offers 40-80 thousand to candidates without work experience, just with a confident knowledge of a foreign language.

Sometimes an option is possible when the amount does not seem exorbitant, but the employment is incomplete.

Another scandal followed fraudsters who offered simple work, just a few hours a day, for remuneration equal to the basic full-time salary.

This is when the employer offers remote work – such as a chat operator, as in the previous screenshot. But the pay is quite modest, and the employee is required to work on his own laptop or smartphone, with his own headset, have a powerful Internet and no problems with light and power. That is, the employer gets the result he needs without investing in equipment and without paying for its operation.

For some, this is a list of responsibilities as long as Heroiv Kharkiv Avenue (you will have to work for three and only one salary, be responsible for everything, without having any rights, etc.). For some, work is only a percentage (for example, you may not always be able to get exactly the product that sells well, or get it on time, but you will have to “pay” it yourself). Some are against business trips, because they are not always properly paid and therefore result in solid losses. Experienced people always ask whether overtime work is paid – and at what rate.

Conclusion – after reading the text of the vacancy, you should clearly understand what kind of work, under what conditions and with which employer you are offered to perform. It is worth looking at the company's website, the company's social media pages. If you have clarifying questions – write them down and don't be shy to ask the employer's representative about the points that are important to you.

It is good when your interlocutor can honestly say that he does not know something, but is ready to look for an answer and get back to you with it. A specialist who does not manipulate, does not pressure, but communicates on a partnership basis and respects your position.

And do not rush.

Manipulators try to pressure or speed up the decision-making to reduce your criticality of perception. Do not hesitate to take time to think, look for alternative sources of information and make balanced systemic decisions.
