Is it dangerous to be single? Scientists have found out their risk of death from heart failure

Scientists have stated that men who are called “eternal bachelors” are twice as likely to die from heart failure compared to men who have ever been married.
The authors of a new scientific paper examined data from a study of atherosclerosis, which involved 6.8 thousand American adults aged 45 to 84. Researchers compared survival rates over 4.7 years in 94 people diagnosed with heart failure.
It turned out that men with heart failure who had never been married had a twofold higher risk of dying within almost five years of diagnosis.
This may be due to factors such as isolation and lack of social interaction, non-adherence to treatment and recommended diet, low levels of care and physical activity, as well as alcohol consumption and reluctance to see a doctor.
