Is it possible to sow radishes in open ground before winter?

About winter garlic, onion is well known to everyone. Carrots and even tomatoes are also sown. And a logical question arises about radish. Is it possible to get a harvest with it, if it is sown in the beds at the end of autumn. It is interesting, but it is really possible: in the spring you will grow an early crop.

Why you can sow radishes

This culture can really be sown before winter. The fact is that radish belongs to frost-resistant plants. This is precisely its advantage.

Scheme of actions for sowing

First of all, you need to choose the right place. It is best if it is open and with fertile soil. Add compost or humus under digging in the amount of 10 liters per 1 sq.m. Loosen the soil with a rake. Make furrows at a distance of 15 cm from each other. The depth should be 3-5 cm. Cover with film. So it will stand until frost, but put some in a bag and put it in the cellar.

There is no need to soak the seeds before sowing. It is necessary to sow after the onset of frost. Pour seeds into the furrows. From above, shake them with the soil that was stored in the cellar.

The last step remains. The bed is mulched with peat. The thickness of the layer is 3-5 cm. If everything is done correctly, in the spring it will be possible to harvest 2-3 weeks earlier than the spring sowing format.
