The endocrinologist explained the dangers of night shifts and why work in nighttime is harmful to the body.
In this case, we will not talk about “owls” and “larks”. After all, both of them, for the most part, do sleep at night. With the difference that some like to go to bed later and sleep longer, while others wake up at dawn.
It is about full-time work shifts at night. After all, it is no secret that many manufacturing enterprises work around the clock without a break, and the specialists who serve them are forced to work in shifts, including at night.
“Unfortunately, these are very bad health options, they cannot compensate The best way to improve health is to look for a job with a normal schedule,” says the doctor.
Researchers say that such a regime is extremely harmful to the body, and if a person works on such a schedule for years, night shifts sooner or later will hit your health.
It is especially dangerous when the shifts constantly alternate between each other: a day every three, a week “by day”, a week “at night”, etc. The body simply does not have time to adapt and reorganize itself to a constantly changing regime.
As a result, the nervous system is under endless stress, the circadian rhythms laid down in us by nature are disturbed – to stay awake during the day, to rest at night.
If night shifts cannot be avoided, constant night shifts are less harmful to health than a “ragged” changing schedule.
