Is it true that vegetarians live longer than other people?

A nutritionist called the rumors that “real” vegetarians, who have completely given up animal food, supposedly live longer, look better, and are in better health, a myth.
The doctor explained that many categories of people are strictly contraindicated in giving up animal food and switching to a plant-only diet. There may be many dangerous health consequences.
However, the doctor recommended that people aged 40–50 and older limit animal fats contained in poultry and switch to fish.
“Many vegetarians are visible. They have dull eyes, dull complexion, and they seem to be malnourished. However, at the age of 40–50 and older, a person should limit animal fats contained in poultry and switch to fish,” the doctor noted.
As the specialist emphasized, how young a person looks depends on genetics, lifestyle, its fullness and meaning. But this has nothing to do with vegetarianism.
The doctor also touched on the possible consequences of refusing animal food. “If a person uses only vegetable fats, he loses the opportunity to obtain vitamin B12, absorb fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, since these vitamins come only with animal fats. These vitamins are involved in many physiological processes, and their deficiency will cause a whole cascade of diseases: B12-deficiency anemia, and with age, osteoporosis,” the nutritionist warned.
