Just one vitamin will protect you from dementia

The study showed that vitamin B3 is useful in preventing Alzheimer's disease. We will tell you more about this in our material.
Scientists from the US National Institutes of Health conducted research in this area. They conducted tests on laboratory rodents. They managed to find out that nicotinamide riboside (one of the forms of B3) had a positive effect on the cognitive and physical abilities of rodents. It is assumed that this will help in the future to solve the problem of dementia among people.
It is noted that in Alzheimer's disease, DNA repair processes are disrupted in the brain. This leads to dysfunction of mitochondria, that is, the “energy stations” of cells. Problems with neurons and inflammation can also occur. But nicotinamide riboside is able to normalize the levels of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.
At the same time, much less DNA damage was observed. Scientists noticed that much fewer nerve cells were damaged and died in them, and neuroplasticity increased. In the brain's memory center (or hippocampus), it could repair DNA. All this created obstacles to further destruction and damage to DNA.
