Lazy dumplings with cabbage for a quick lunch

Lazy dumplings with cabbage are a quick and tasty alternative to classic dumplings. This dish combines a delicate dough and the rich taste of stewed cabbage, which creates an interesting balance. If you are looking for a new way to use cabbage, these dumplings may become your favorite dish.
In some regions, lazy dumplings are traditionally made with potatoes or cheese, but cabbage adds an original touch.
Ingredients:
- 300 g white cabbage
- 200 g flour
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 50 ml oil
- Salt, pepper to taste
First, chop the cabbage and simmer it over medium heat with a little oil until it is soft. Add salt and pepper to taste. Leave to cool. In a large bowl, mix the flour, egg, sour cream and a little salt. Add the cooled cabbage to the dough and mix well.
Form the dough into small balls or long “sausages” and cut them into pieces. Boil the dumplings in salted water until cooked – about 5-7 minutes after they float to the surface.
- To make the dough more tender, you can add a little semolina or kefir.
- If you want to make the filling richer, add a little chopped dill or fried onions to the cabbage.
- Serve the dumplings with sour cream or fried onions for a more pronounced taste.
