Cell phones have improved life in many ways people, but there are also a number of negative consequences. One of the main fears was the possibility of getting cancer due to exposure to radio frequency waves.
Experts express different opinions on this issue. However, a recent study found that long-term phone use can actually be harmful.
Work by a team of scientists from the US and Korea found evidence that phone use is associated with an increased risk of tumors, especially brain tumors.
According to the study, using a cell phone to make calls for more than 1,000 hours or about 17 minutes a day over a 10-year period increases the risk of developing a tumor by 60 percent.
Scientists note that more research is needed to fully understand the health risks that cell phones pose.
