Low testosterone: how to recognize it and what to do
0
If hormonal disruptions in women are most often very noticeable, then in men problems with the male hormone itself may not cause serious symptoms for a long time, but cause harm to the body.
The main male sex hormone is actually much more important than it seems. In particular, it affects the development of muscle and bone mass, hair growth, sperm, and in general all body systems. Testosterone levels naturally decrease with age, but hormonal imbalance can occur even in a young man.
The signs of low testosterone levels can be very different, but there are those that are most common. First of all, these are problems with erection, if they do not occur against the background of already diagnosed diseases. Also, with low testosterone levels, sexual desire decreases. In any case, the lack of an erection is a reason to visit a doctor as soon as possible, since this problem can be a consequence of many diseases.
Also, a sign of low testosterone levels is hair loss, a gradual decrease in muscle mass, an increase in body fat, especially in the abdominal area, sudden fragility of bones, hot flashes, sleep problems and mood swings. By the way, similar symptoms also indicate a hormonal imbalance in a woman's body; they are normal during menopause, but should not appear before it occurs.
Testosterone levels are adjusted with the help of therapy, but in some cases, when the hormone level is slightly below normal, it is enough to adjust your diet and lifestyle – the body will soon return to normal.
