Mackerel soup and bread sauce: an idea for an original dinner
If you have only eaten smoked mackerel until now, it is time to change the culinary tradition. You can prepare a completely different dish from this fish. It will be mackerel soup with bread sauce.
Ingredients
The following products are needed for preparation:
- mackerel – 1 pc. .;
- white bread – 200 g;
- butter – 30 g;
- onion – 120 g;
- bay leaves – 3 pcs.;
- water – 0.5 l;
- black pepper with peas;
- ground turmeric;
- salt, pepper.
How to cook
Cut the mackerel into fillets (raw fish). Cut into pieces of 3-4 cm. Place in a pan with a thick bottom.
Add 1 tsp. salt, a few pieces of black pepper and bay leaves. Now pour water and bring to a boil. Cook from this point for 10 minutes. Cover the pan with a towel, turn off the heat and let it infuse for 10 minutes. The broth must be strained, because there may be small bones in it.
Cut the dried bread into cubes and pour the broth over it to break it up. Onions should be cut and fried with salt and spices. Add to bread with broth. Bring to a boil and pour in cream or add sour cream. Cook for another 3 minutes.
Grind the sauce with a blender. Place the fillets on plates and pour the bread soup over them. Delicious!
