
Making healthy candies at home: 3 simple recipes

You may want something sweet at any time, so for such an occasion you need to have not only delicious sweets on hand, but also healthy ones. You can prepare treats for any taste yourself without spending much time. Dried fruits, chocolate, coconut or salted caramel – choose your favorite ingredient and join the process with us. Sweet homemade candies can be a wonderful surprise for loved ones or a pleasant dessert for yourself. It will be tastier than in the store – definitely!
Creamy toffees
Almost everyone loves this sweet treat since childhood. Milky, tender, with the addition of salt – toffees are very easy to prepare.
Ingredients:
- sugar – 200 g
- cream 33-35% – 200 ml
- butter – 30 g
- honey – 3 tbsp. l.
- vanillin – 2 g
Preparation method:
1. Prepare a silicone ice cube tray. If you don't have one, use a plastic one and grease it with a little oil.
2. In a saucepan, mix the cream, sugar, vanilla, butter, and honey. Place on the heat.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Pour the thickened hot mixture into the molds. Wait for it to cool, then put it in the freezer for 30 minutes.
5. The original candies are ready! If you want to make the taste richer, sprinkle the workpieces with coarse salt before sending them to the refrigerator.
Tender coconut
Being next to freshly prepared coconut candies requires patience and tremendous willpower. After all, for the best result, the products need to be allowed to infuse for a day – after that the dessert will be much tastier.
Ingredients:
- coconut flakes – 150 g
- condensed milk – 400 g
- egg yolks – 1 pc.
- almonds – 100 g
- vanillin – 1 g
Preparation method:
1. In a saucepan with a thick bottom, mix the condensed milk, egg yolk and 100 g of coconut flakes.
2. Put on the fire and boil the mass over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
3. Place the contents of the saucepan on a flat plate, level it and let it cool completely.
4. Roll into balls with a diameter of 3 cm, place almonds inside. Roll in the remaining coconut flakes.
5. Leave the finished candies in the refrigerator overnight to stabilize.
Frozen rain
Jelly candies made from fruits and berries can be made all year round. In summer and autumn, use seasonal products, and in winter, use frozen ones.
Ingredients:
- Plums – 500 g (or any other fruits and berries)
- Gelatin – 40 g
- Sugar – 300 g
- Butter – for greasing
Preparation method:
1. Prepare a container in which you will cool the candies. This can be a flat rectangular baking dish. Line it with baking paper and grease it with butter.
2. Wash the plums, cut them into two parts, remove the pit and, if desired, peel them. The ingredients indicate 500 g of plums, but the prepared amount should be about 400-450 g.
3. Cut the plums into small pieces and mix with sugar. Add a little water (40 ml) and blend with a blender.
4. Pour the resulting mass into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the previously soaked and swollen gelatin to the hot mass and mix until smooth.
5. Cool the mixture to 36–37°C. If you do not have a special thermometer, drop a drop of plum mass onto your hand. If it is not felt on the skin, then the temperature is correct.
6. Beat the contents of the saucepan with a mixer for 10 minutes, until the mass turns white and increases in volume.
7. Pour the mixture into the prepared mold and put it in the refrigerator for 5 hours, until completely solidified.
8. Remove the finished jelly mass from the mold, cut into pieces and roll in sugar or powdered sugar. Store in the refrigerator!
