Male “pause”: the doctor names the signs of low testosterone in men

Men may experience a “surge of negative symptoms” as a result of falling testosterone levels.
As men age, testosterone levels decline, and this decline can cause a number of symptoms to indicate a condition similar to female menopause. This opinion was voiced in an interview with Express by a British doctor, an expert in men's health Jeff Foster.
The doctor noted that by analogy with menopause, such a change in the male body is called “manopause”.
The doctor explains that the level of testosterone in men increases maximally up to the age of 30, and falls by about one percent per year. If a man initially has a low level of testosterone, the symptoms of “manopause” can appear without waiting for aging. Speaking about this, the specialist clarified that “signs of low testosterone to look out for include brain fog, low sex drive and depression.”
Other signs of the problem include a loss of muscle mass and density bones, poor concentration, fatigue quickly occurs. At the same time, it is possible to accurately diagnose the disorder only after performing a blood test.
