Many people do not know what are the signs of a stroke

A stroke is characterized by impaired blood flow to the brain , which it is preceded by a rupture of a blood vessel or blockage of blood vessels by a thrombus.
In a pre-stroke state, a person cannot fully smile, because half of the mouth falls down. His movements become uncoordinated, and his weakness prevents him from raising both arms. The patient's speech loses its expressiveness, words cannot be distinguished. If all these signs appear at the same time, urgent medical attention is required.
Professor Martin Dennis of the University of Edinburgh clarified that there are other symptoms that people often do not pay attention to or do not know that they are precursors of a stroke.
He pointed to numbness of the hands, limbs and part of the face. The professor explained that this is due to compression of the nerve, especially if the person has been sitting or lying down for a long time. It is worth worrying when the face and arm, or arm and leg, go numb at the same time.
In a pre-stroke state, people also lose the ability to understand other people's language. They can suddenly lose even their memory, says the professor. Many are unaware that this signal signals an approaching stroke.
“People who develop aphasia and dysphasia (difficulty understanding speech) begin to confuse words. They cannot say anything or understand what is said to them. They may also lose the ability to write and read. Laypeople would say that such people are confused or do not remember anything because they cannot answer questions.”
Non-obvious symptoms also include loss of vision in one or both eyes, as blood stops flowing to the organs of vision. A person experiences severe dizziness, which in a stroke is accompanied by weakness, double vision, slurred speech, and numbness in the extremities.
Doctors also note the presence of severe headaches in patients in a pre-stroke state. This symptom indicates a circulatory disorder in the brain or even a hemorrhage. If you do not seek medical help in time, the person risks becoming disabled.
