Metabolism peaks in the year and falls after 60

The study showed that peak metabolic rates in the human body are noted at the age of one year. And their sharp decline occurs already after 60.
6,400 people aged from 8 days to 95 years in 29 countries took part in this study. It showed that the metabolic rate remains almost unchanged during middle age.
At the same time, this indicator reaches its peak in just one year, and remains stable from 20 to 60. After 60, it begins to inexorably decrease.
These discoveries provided new data on the functioning of the human body. Metabolism is necessary for the maintenance of vital activity of the body. Especially if a person trains a lot and diligently, which leads to microtears in muscle tissue.
Metabolism helps to restore them. It is also a good protection against excess fat on the stomach and sides. The higher the metabolic rate, i.e. the burning of excess calories, the less these unwanted reserves are. That's why the researchers adjusted their measurements for body size to compare the metabolism of people of different weights.
A study published in the journal Science identified 4 phases of metabolic life. The first goes from birth to a year, when the metabolism increases, then until the age of 20, where there are slight changes in the metabolic rate without sharp spikes, from 20 to 60 it does not change at all, and after 60 there is a constant decrease.
In 90, if a person is lucky enough to live to this age, the metabolic rate is 26%, compared to the average age.
