Milk turned out to be dangerous for consumption in case of one of the diseases

It is recommended to avoid milk only those who are lactose intolerant. It has been shown to be dangerous for people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Patients develop more severe disease symptoms after consuming dairy products. Scientists have found a possible reason for this.
A recent study found that cow's milk protein can cause inflammation that targets the “insulating layer” around nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The researchers tested this connection in mice and found evidence of a similar mechanism in humans.
The animals were injected with various cow's milk proteins to see if there was a component to which the animals would respond with increased symptoms of multiple sclerosis. . As a result, upon introduction of casein, neurological disorders developed in mice, and electron microscopy showed damage to myelin – the “insulating layer” around nerve fibers.
In multiple sclerosis, the body's immune system destroys the myelin sheath. The consequences of the disease vary from paresthesias and vision problems to more dangerous ones, such as movement disorders. In extreme cases, patients need a wheelchair. Myelin was severely damaged in mice given casein.
Now, experts are investigating whether a particular type of casein is responsible for worsening multiple sclerosis symptoms. However, because casein is a key protein in cow's milk, this product is best avoided in people with MS. Cow's milk can be replaced with soy, oat or almond milk.
