Mobilization in Ukraine: which doctors should men undergo during the VLK

If a person is deemed unfit for military service due to his health, two documents are issued. The first is a certificate from the VLK, the second is a certificate of illness, says the lawyer.

Passing the VLK is regulated by the Regulation on military medical examination, which was approved by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine on August 14, 2008. It specifies the actions that must be carried out by medics, conscripts, and military personnel. It describes all types of diseases for which conscripts are tested, the grounds for conducting a medical examination, as well as the possibilities and methods of challenging the conclusions if the conscripts do not agree with them.

According to lawyer Oleg Leontiev, during a military conscript must undergo the following specialists to pass the VLC:

• surgeon;
• therapist;
• neuropathologist;
• psychiatrist;< /li>
• ophthalmologist;
• otolaryngologist;
• dentist;
• dermatologist;
• doctors of other specialties if indicated.< /li>

This certificate must be approved by the regional medical commission, and then on its basis it is recognized that a person is subject to exemption from military service due to his health condition and is not subject to conscription.

What a conscript should remember , when he goes to the VLC:

1. For doctors, the presence or absence of a disease is not important, but what is important is whether a person received treatment for this disease and how this disease affects the body's functions.

< li>It is necessary to have with you all medical documents in all forms, so that the doctors can properly examine all this.

2. After passing the medical examination, in case of disagreement with the doctors' conclusions, a person has the right to appeal conclusions both administratively and judicially. And in order to appeal, it is necessary to request from the doctors a certificate of the VLK – a physical medium in which their conclusions are indicated.
