Morning fatigue can be prevented with the right alarm sound

Getting out of bed in the morning can be a difficult task, especially for “owls”. A new study has shown that only one thing can set a good tone for the whole day, and it is not a cup of aromatic strong coffee. It's all about the signal you use for the alarm.
According to new research from Melbourne's Royal Institute of Technology in Australia, the sleepiness and lack of alertness that occurs in the morning is called sleep inertia. The feeling of fatigue can last up to four hours.
To understand how to combat this, scientists conducted a study of alarm clock sounds, comparing the “melodic” ones created by music with the “non-melodic” ones used in most standard alarm clocks.

“The results of the study showed that regardless of the genre of music playing, the melodic sounds of the alarm clock led to a faster and gentler rise, compared to classical melodies,” the team notes in a press release.
