Experienced gardeners already know that in in the life of grapes, there are only two main treatments. The first is carried out at the beginning of flowering, and the second after. Both are preventive measures against the spread of diseases that kill up to 85% of the crop. Let's talk about it in more detail.
How and when to treat grapes from rot
Prevention is carried out in two stages. The first – before flowering, the second – after.
Vinegrowers recommend not to skimp on treatments and buy professional products, from which they are called “Defender” and “Tandem”.
The first fights the pathogens of the main cultural diseases, such as oidium, gray rot, mildew.
The second component is used as a “glue” that allows the active component to remain longer on the leaves and vines.
Instead of the second component, gardeners allow the use of liquid soap, but it is important that it is free of aromatic impurities.
The solution is prepared according to the instructions, after which not only the leaves are treated, but also the vine.
It is important to treat the leaves from the back as well hand, and it is better to plan the procedure for dry and windless weather. The time before sunset is considered ideal.
This way, the solution will not evaporate, it will not flow to the ground, but it will be absorbed into the bark and leaves within a few hours.
The second treatment is carried out with the same preparations, but only after the grapes have faded.
If everything is done conscientiously, the vine will be reliably protected from pests and diseases.
