It is well known that exercise is the key to preventing obesity and related complications such as heart disease and stroke.
According to a new study, the results of which were published by the Journal of the American Heart Association (Journal of the American Heart Association), protection against these dangerous diseases is provided not only by playing sports, but also by daily movement – in this regard, it is very useful to have the habit of doing various household chores on your own.
“Research has shown that performing routine tasks that require a person to move a lot in everyday life can significantly improve the health of the cardiovascular system,” the magazine writes.
In particular, the following was established. Compared to women who exercised less than two hours a day, those women who exercised at least four hours had a 43% lower risk of cardiovascular disease (including coronary heart disease) and a 30% lower risk of stroke.
“The risk of death from cardiovascular diseases with daily movement of at least 4 hours is reduced by 62 percent.”
Researchers came to these conclusions after analyzing the physical activity of almost 5,416 women aged 63 to 97 years.
Speaking of useful movement in everyday life, scientists clarify that they mean a wide range of actions that are not carried out in a sitting position. These include, for example, getting up from a chair, walking while talking on the phone, cleaning the house and washing dishes, cooking, working in the garden or garden, and walking. In fact, the scientists emphasize, “any movement is important for the prevention of diseases” if it is done by a person who is not sitting on a chair.
