Named a drink that gets rid of belly fat

Visceral fat accumulates inside the abdominal cavity , increasing the risk of developing chronic diseases. But there is one useful drink that helps to significantly reduce the volume of the fatty layer over time.

Visceral fat is located deep in the abdominal cavity and surrounds important internal organs such as the liver, stomach, kidneys and intestines. If an excessive amount of visceral fat accumulates, the risk of developing such chronic diseases as type 2 diabetes, hypertension and heart disease increases. That is why it is so important to find ways to reduce the amount of visceral fat.

The right diet is an effective means of fighting against this dangerous fat, and there are foods that directly help reduce the volume of the belly.

Green tea helps fight visceral fat, according to a study published in the journal Obesity.
Green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. And black tea is also made from this plant.

As part of a study designed to test the ability of green tea to reduce the amount of visceral fat and the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, scientists examined people who lead a typical lifestyle.

Green tea contains antioxidants called polyphenols, which make up about 30% of the weight of dry tea. Most of these substances are flavonoids called catechins.

The properties of green tea catechins have become the subject of many studies, as scientists are increasingly interested in the role of catechins in weight loss.

To to investigate the ability of catechins to fight obesity, scientists invited Japanese men and women with visceral obesity.

They conducted a 12-week double-blind study in which participants had to drink green tea containing 583 milligrams of catechins (the catechin group) or 96 milligrams of catechins (the control group) per day.

During the double-blind in blind studies, neither the scientists nor the participants themselves know what treatment the participants are receiving and what they are exposed to.

Volunteers were asked to eat as usual and follow their usual lifestyle.

What did the research show?

The scientists found that compared to the control group, the reduction in visceral and subcutaneous fat in participants from the catechin group was more pronounced.

What is even more important, the amount of visceral fat “reduced significantly over time,” as the scientists noted.< /p>

But the effect of drinking green tea was not limited to this. Scientists recorded a more significant reduction in systolic pressure and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in the catechin group.

Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and high blood pressure are predictors of heart disease, which often accompany the accumulation of visceral fat.

What exactly makes green tea an effective obesity treatment?

New research shows that drinking green tea and green tea extract can help with weight loss and fat loss because they boost metabolism and fat oxidation.

One study involving people with obese men, showed that catechins called EGCG alone have the ability to speed up the process of fat oxidation.

The study participants received 300 milligrams of EGCG for two days, and they had a significant acceleration in the rate of fat oxidation compared with a placebo group.

In many studies, scientists use green tea extract, which has a more pronounced effect than brewed green tea.

“This does not mean at all that you cannot get such the same amount of catechins, using brewed tea. You just have to drink more tea,” the scientists noted.
