Rejection of red and processed m' yasa in favor of a diet rich in beans, oatmeal and nuts can increase the length of a healthy life by 13%. Researchers from the University of Bergen in Norway came to this conclusion.

Another study shows how important a factor nutrition is for human health and longevity. It is claimed that switching to a healthy diet can increase the period of healthy life expectancy by more than 10 years. To do this, you need to consume red and processed meat as little as possible in the form of sausages, anchovies and ham, which are so popular in Ukraine, with an emphasis on whole grain products, legumes and nuts. The authors of the study observed the effect of typical Western diets on humans.

These diets contain almost no nuts or legumes, and are low in fruits and vegetables, but each day their fans drink a pint of sugar-sweetened beverages and are very fond of dairy products.

A typical 20-year-old American who would follow the optimal from the point of view of diet researchers, could live 13 years longer, compared to someone who did not receive this nutrition – these are the results of the calculation. But, what is very important, the transition to a healthy diet can be carried out at a later age, this will also significantly increase life expectancy. Beans, whole grains and nuts reduce cholesterol levels, they are saturated with vitamins and minerals. And the Western diet, as a rule, contains a lot of processed foods that contain a lot of salt and sugar. It also has an excess of red meat and dairy products. Numerous studies have linked the Western diet to longevity, mainly due to obesity and cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and various cancers.
