Named an affordable product that reduces the risk of death

Several studies have shown that consumption of hot red peppers is associated with a reduced risk of death. An affordable product can protect against the development of a number of life-threatening disorders.

From helping with weight loss, protecting against heart attacks and certain types of cancer, to increasing life expectancy, scientists believe that chili peppers have all these properties: this the product is called a ticket to a long and healthy life. Its consumption has the effect of reducing the risk of death – this has been confirmed by research.

Scientists monitored the condition of 23,000 people for eight years, divided into two groups: those who used pepper and those who did not. The researchers found that the risk of death from a heart attack was 40 percent lower among those who ate the spicy food at least four times a week.

An observational study published by medical professionals from the University of Vermont also found a relationship between hot pepper consumption and mortality. They analyzed the data of the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, during which a representative sample of adults, their diet and lifestyle was observed between 1988 and 1994. The doctors found that the total mortality of the participants who consumed hot red pepper was 22 percent compared to 34 percent among those who did not eat it.

Scientists believe that the available product can reduce the risk of death due to the influence of its nutrients, including vitamins B, C and provitamin A. Its active ingredient capsaicin has the ability to protect the body from the development of heart disease and obesity. It was found that eating hot pepper spices increases the rate of fat breakdown in certain tissues and prevents overeating. This is important because being overweight or obese increases the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer, all while increasing a person's chance of early death.

Also, lab tests studies have shown that capsaicin has strong anticancer properties, is able to kill more than 40 types of cancer cells without damaging normal cells, and prevent the spread of cancer to other parts of the body.

In one of the works, scientists found that the use of 5 grams of pepper chili before a meal with a high carbohydrate content helps to stabilize blood sugar levels, prevent sharp spikes in glucose levels. Capsaicin has also been shown to lower cholesterol.

Other hot foods that contain capsaicin include jalapeno peppers, cayenne pepper.
