Some foods and drinks should not be consumed by the elderly for breakfast – they are dangerous because of their ability to influence the onset of Parkinson's disease symptoms.
Elderly people are at increased risk of neurodegenerative diseases, including parkinsonism. Experts warn that certain foods and drinks consumed for breakfast can increase the likelihood of developing these pathologies.
Experts state that Parkinson's disease is characterized by low blood pressure. For this reason, food and drink that contribute to hypotension or sudden pressure fluctuations are dangerous for the elderly. Doctors note that many hot drinks, especially vegetable and herbal teas, can be such.
In addition, they consider dangerous products that lead to constipation – another problem of degenerative brain disease. According to the Parkinson's Disease Association of America, seniors should avoid eating too many bananas because they increase the risk of slow-motion problems in the intestines. For the same reason, pensioners need to be extremely careful when eating products and dishes made from white flour, sweets.
