Named ideal products for lowering blood sugar and protecting the heart
1 < p>High blood sugar is associated with the development of diabetes and heart disease, as it adversely affects the condition of blood vessels – but cereal products can become an ideal affordable means of solving this problem. This opinion was expressed by scientists from the University of Guelph (Canada).
Excess sugar in the blood contributes to the inflammation of vascular tissue, which damages the arteries, as a result of which the risks of developing hypertension, heart attacks, and strokes increase. Legume products effectively help fight the disorder: beans, dry peas, chickpeas, lentils, beans.
Canadian researchers stated that in both observational and experimental studies, the consumption of legumes improved parameters of blood lipid profile, blood sugar control and blood pressure in adults (healthy and diabetic). Cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as blood pressure, are the three main variable risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
