Japanese scientists conducted a study that showed the influence of eating habits. TASS writes about this with reference to Stroke.
For 15 years, scientists observed more than 70 thousand residents of Asia. People under the age of 74 participated in the study. Moreover, initially the subjects had no signs of problems with the cardiovascular system.
As it turned out, eating products made on the basis of peanuts and the nuts themselves in their pure form, on average, reduced the probability of a stroke by 16%. In addition, the product had a beneficial effect on reducing the risk of cerebral ischemia, in which case the probability decreased by 20%.
“We have shown for the first time that the consumption of large amounts of peanuts is statistically associated with a decrease in the frequency of strokes among Asian residents . This suggests that the addition of peanut-based products to the diet will be beneficial for human health and the condition of the blood vessels in the brain,” shared one of the authors of the work, Professor Satoyo Ikehara of Osaka University.
