Named products that are harmful for flu and colds

The correct selection of food plays an important role in recovering from a cold. Some dishes can strengthen the immune system, as they contain many vitamins and minerals. But there are also products whose consumption during and after a cold can harm the body.

Candy and other sweets are recognized as one of the most harmful for flu and colds. The refined sugar contained in them weakens the action of leukocytes, which contributes to a decrease in immunity and slows down the recovery process.

During an illness, it is also not recommended to consume dairy products – cottage cheese and whole milk. They stimulate the production of mucus and thicken it, so allergens remain in the body longer.

Another harmful product is potato chips. Like everything crispy, they irritate the throat, which slows down the process of its recovery. In addition, the salt contained in chips causes dehydration and worsens the patient's condition.

Fruit juices can be useful, but only if they do not contain a large amount of sugar. During colds, it is better to give preference to freshly squeezed juice with a high content of vitamin C.
