Named tea that protects against heart disease, diabetes and extends life
You can prolong life by drinking rosehip tea, scientists state. Its regular drinking protects against the development of heart diseases and type 2 diabetes.
According to scientific experts, certain products and drinks have powerful health-improving properties, thanks to which human life is extended. One of them is tea made from rose hips – the fruits of the wild rose. Its use, in particular, protects against heart diseases.
“Rose hips contain a high concentration of antioxidants, specifically vitamin C. A review of 13 studies showed that taking 500 mg of vitamin C per day significantly reduced levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, two major risk factors for heart disease. In addition, rose hips are rich in flavonoids, which lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure and improve blood flow to the heart.”
Another property of rosehip tea is related to protection against the onset of type 2 diabetes, a disease characterized by too high blood sugar levels. The researchers conducted tests on mice fed a very fatty diet, which made them fat. For 20 weeks, the animals were given rose hips, which contributed to a decrease in blood sugar levels, fasting insulin levels and a slowdown in the growth of fat cells in the liver – these indicators are inextricably linked to a high risk of type 2 diabetes.
Scientists separately note a favorable the effect of rosehip tea on the prevention of obesity.
“Obesity can provoke the emergence of serious and potentially life-threatening conditions, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer. Rosehip fruits from the rose canina plant are rich in the antioxidant tiliroside, which has fat-burning properties,” experts explain.
In addition, the drink effectively improves the condition of the skin, resists its withering, aging, and sun damage. It has been proven that the carotenoid astaxanthin, which is saturated in rosehip tea, has an anti-aging effect, preventing the breakdown of collagen – the main “protein of youth” of the skin. It also contains vitamin A and lycopene, which have long been known for their ability to protect skin cells from harmful ultraviolet rays.
