0
As more and more people in the world live to old age, the problems of cognitive decline are of great interest to scientists.
American geriatricians and neurologists conducted a study that helped identify another early sign by which Alzheimer's disease can be recognized.
The experts invited 220 people aged 63 to 89. At the beginning of the study, their mental abilities were normal, but in some brains, accumulations of proteins were found, which later become plaques, that is, early signs of Alzheimer's disease, which have not yet manifested themselves as specific symptoms. The participants of the experiment were also interviewed in detail about their social activity. Three years later, the study participants again underwent the same tests.
