No one met Molotov cocktails: Kostenko about local people and battles in the Kursk region

The operation in the Kursk region showed the skill of the military leadership of Ukraine and the professionalism of the Ukrainian military, Roman Kostenko believes.

The special operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region did not is an “easy walk”, but in terms of the ratio of achieved goals and losses, it is quite successful. People's deputy, SBU colonel Roman Kostenko said this in an interview with NV.

“This is not an easy walk. If we compare the large-scale operations that are already taking place on the territory of Ukraine from 2022, then Kursk is quite successful even in terms of the ratio of achieved goals and losses. Believe me, when these losses are shown one day, we will see that our soldiers fight there quite heroically and cause much more losses to the enemy than they receive themselves. Although now it is more difficult than in the early days,” Kostenko said.

He added that now the armed forces are entrenched in the captured territories and were able to attract troops from other directions, and the operation in Kurshchyna itself showed the skill of the military leadership of Ukraine and the professionalism of the Ukrainian military. Roman Kostenko also noted that it is very good that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, “has become involved in the conduct of hostilities”, which the soldiers can see, and it is good that the president is being informed about the Kursk direction and where the enemy has the initiative.

< p>“We have not seen so often before when the president listened to the commander-in-chief. They didn't see it at all,” Kostenko said.

As for the local population that remained in Kurshchyna, in the territories currently under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kostenko emphasized that there was no resistance, as was the case in Ukraine was.

“We are not observing anything like that. We see that the border guards and customs officers who lived there immediately fled. There are many Ukrainian-speakers in the remaining local population. Nobody made Molotov cocktails there. They communicate, our military helps. I don't know about problems with the fact that our people treat someone badly there or there is some opposition,” he said.
