Not just wine: what are the ways to harvest grapes for the winter?

Even the ancient Greeks knew about the benefits of grapes for the human body. This berry was held in great esteem by them.

They used grapes to treat various diseases, and also used it as a strengthening and tonic.

Details

Until now, red wine is considered a product capable of restoring strength, for example, after blood loss.

But no one will drink wine in large quantities just to provide the body with nutrients contained in grapes.

Let us remind you of the recipes of the best preparations, which have many benefits and no alcohol.

Juice

The simplest and most useful preparation is juice. Berries must be passed through a juicer. Bring the resulting juice to a boil and boil for 3 minutes, pour into sterile jars and roll up.

If you don't have a juicer, you can boil the berries for 5-7 minutes, strain through a sieve, and boil the resulting juice and roll up.

Compote

Pour the berries into clean jars, filling them 2/3 full, pour boiling water over them. Drain the water after 5 minutes. Dissolve sugar in it at the rate of 1 cup per liter of water. Bring to a boil, add the grapes again and roll up.

Grapes in syrup

It is prepared like compote. The only difference is that the jars are completely filled with berries, and the syrup is made at the rate of 2 cups of sugar per 1 liter of water.

Jam

You will need 2 kg of grapes. They need to be boiled for 10 minutes, allowed to cool and mashed, separating the skin and seeds from the rest of the mass.

The mashed grape mass must be sent to the fire again. Before this, you need to mix the gelling mixture with a small amount of sugar and send it all to the saucepan. Add the remaining sugar. It is enough to take 1.2 kg of sugar per kilogram of berries.

Boil for 7-10 minutes. Roll up like regular jam.

You can not add a gelatinous substance, but then you need to cook the jam for 40-60 minutes so that it thickens.

Pastalas

Pastalas are tasty and healthy treats, but this dessert is prepared for about 6 hours. You will have to be patient.

To prepare, take 2 kg of berries peeled from twigs, pour them into a pan and put them on fire. So that the berries do not stick until the juice appears, you can add 50 ml of water. After boiling for 5 minutes, the berries should be rubbed through a sieve. The resulting puree should be poured into a saucepan and cooked over medium heat until its volume is reduced by half. Add 1 tbsp. sugar.

In a small amount of water, dilute 1 tbsp. l. cornstarch and add to the boiling grape puree. Bring to a boil again and turn off. Enter 3 egg whites, beating with a blender.

Spread the mass on a sheet (1 liter of mass on 1 sheet). Dry in the oven at a temperature of 60 degrees. Readiness is easy to determine: you need to touch the paste. If the finger sticks, the dessert is ready.

After cooling, the pastille can be rolled into a roll.
