Dietitian, member of the American Professional Association of Dietetics and Nutrition, Elizaveta Afinskaya, said that eating habits have a huge impact on our appearance, as well as our well-being.
The dietitian told us what to add to your diet to look better and feel good.
She explained that the formula for longevity is not as complicated as it might seem to the most demanding eye.
According to her, in order to live longer and look good at the same time, you need to follow quite simple and banal, but very important recommendations from specialists:
– You need to get enough sleep;
– You need to exercise regularly;
– You need to worry as little as possible;
– You need to monitor your diet and constantly assess your health.
As for the beauty of the skin, it is completely measured by all these factors. If you add specific products to your diet, you will be able to postpone aging for several years at once.
– We know that all sources of vitamin E, vitamin C, beta-carotene and polyphenols are able to protect cells from oxidative stress, reduce inflammation and contribute to the structural support of the skin.
Scientists have already proven all these facts in their numerous studies.
Add the following products to your diet:
– Mango helps reduce the depth and number of wrinkles. And it is very rich in vitamin C, carotenoids and flavonoids. Mango is best eaten fresh, but frozen fruit is also suitable. Half a cup of frozen product can be added to a smoothie instead of the same banana – it will be both healthy and tasty.
– Tomatoes are rich in the antioxidant lycopene, which increases the level of skin protection against photoaging. Lycopene becomes more bioavailable when heated. This means that you get much more lycopene from regular tomato soup than just tomatoes.
– Kale can increase collagen production. And collagen is the most important thing for elastic skin. Kale also contains a lot of carotenoids, glucosinolates, vitamin C.
– I love kale – it has few oxalates, and the calcium in kale is absorbed even better than from whole milk, – said Lisa Afinska. – Kale may not be very pleasant in salads, but it is great in a smoothie.
– Almonds also reduce the depth of pigmentation and wrinkles thanks to tocopherol, fats and polyphenols. They should be added to desserts, salads or simply taken with you to work – as a snack.
