This happens due to a decrease in estrogen: the cells of our body stop absorbing sugar normally and because of this, the glucose level increases. The body assesses this condition as dangerous and seeks to remove glucose by any means, urgently converting it into fat.

The hormone leptin also comes into play for weight gain. It controls appetite and the feeling of satiety. The level of leptin decreases with estrogen deficiency, which provokes hunger, despite the fact that objectively there is still enough energy reserves. And the woman begins to eat more, unconsciously choosing high-calorie junk food.

It is these metabolic disorders that begin to start the “program” of weight gain, even if the woman was not previously prone to it.

But you should not think that excess weight is inevitable, only the tendency increases.
