Nutritionists compared cocoa powder to carbonated water in terms of harmfulness

Healthy eating experts tested the powder used to make cocoa and found that it could be harmful.

During the study, the experts bought a cup of cocoa from a popular caffeine vending machine, as well as one prepared by a barista. It turned out that a cup (with a capacity of 200 milliliters) of cocoa from the machine contained approximately five spoons of sugar. There are three in cocoa from a coffee shop, and only two in a homemade drink.

– It is better to buy cocoa powder yourself if you really want it. The best way to check the quality of the powder is to rub it with your fingers. If it starts to roll, it means that it contains cocoa butter, which is required in normal cocoa, – recommends nutritionist Clara Lenson.

If cocoa is low in sugar, then it can even be considered useful. It is a great invigorating drink, so you should not drink it in the evening. This drink also helps improve the condition of blood vessels and fight inflammatory processes.

However, only real cocoa is beneficial. It tastes better than budget products, but it costs much more.
