Nutritionists explained the dangers of using coconut and almond milk

In recent years vegetable emulsions made of coconut and almonds have gained popularity among Ukrainians. Nutritionists explained how dangerous it is to use alternative milk on an ongoing basis.
Experts from the Uniprof Academy of Doctors said that soy milk, like its counterparts of plant origin, is rich in carbohydrates and fats, but it has a reduced amount of protein.

“Coconut and almond are the fattest among other types. But the fats in it are different – unsaturated fatty acids,” the organization's representatives emphasized. For the same reason, the products are not recommended for people with atherosclerosis of blood vessels, diabetes and need additional protein.
Animal milk, on the contrary, contains an increased amount of protein and vitamin D, but the lipids in it are different. We are talking about the so-called saturated fatty acids, which are worse absorbed by humans.
At the same time, it is recommended to give preference to a drink that has undergone the necessary heat treatment. If the product has an unpleasant smell that gives off a cow or dung, then this may be due to poor quality control when it is taken.
