Nutritionists revealed the peculiarities of nutrition of long-lived people

There are about three hundred hypotheses about the processes leading to the aging of the body. Today, science believes that one-third of a person's life span depends on genetics, and the rest on their behavior and habits, including food preferences. Nutritionists analyzed the diet of European long-lived people in order to find out the peculiarities of their diet.
In the EU, the most people with longevity live in Greece, Italy and the southern part of France. Many citizens of these countries follow the so-called Mediterranean diet. Its feature is a large number of vegetables (tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini, broccoli occupy an important place in this list), nuts, legumes, sea fish, as well as the use of olive oil. However, this type of diet may not be suitable for every person. Experts recommend first consulting a doctor on this issue.
Scientists are unanimous in their opinion that the main factor in longevity is a person's lifestyle, and this concept includes, in addition to food, sleep, physical activity, and the ability to cope with stress. A person who does not eat properly cannot become a long-lived person. And vice versa – the right adjustment of the diet can remove factors that negatively affect life expectancy.
