Experts found that daily supplements containing 2.5 grams of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (the highest dose tested) best helped the body resist destructive impact of stress. It turned out that the bodies of experiment participants who took omega-3 supplements produced less cortisol (stress hormone) and pro-inflammatory protein during a stressful situation.
In other words, omega-3 fatty acids were able to increase stress resistance and reduce anti-inflammatory activity at the cellular level, which are considered to be one of the main factors of aging. Interestingly, this effect was observed not only in healthy people, but also in overweight people who lead a sedentary lifestyle. that people can do to break the vicious cycle of stress and negative health consequences,” said the lead author of the work, Anneliese Madison.
